About Ostrich Leather

The distinctive bumps of ostrich leather are quill follicles left where the feathers grew. They appear only on the crown of the hide, so each skin yields a limited amount of patterned leather. Ostrich shin, taken from the leg, has a scaled, reptilian look instead.

Natural oils in the skin make it exceptionally resistant to drying and cracking; it stays supple for years and moulds to the wrist quickly. Light and tactile, it gives real character to both dress and sports watches.
