About Suede & Nubuck

Suede is made by buffing the flesh side of the hide into a soft nap with a matte appearance. Nubuck is sanded on the outer grain side instead, so its nap is shorter and its structure denser and more hard-wearing.

Both balance the shine of a polished case with a soft matte texture, which is why they are favourites for autumn and winter. They are sensitive to water and oil marks — a protective spray and avoiding damp conditions will noticeably extend their life.
