About FKM Rubber
The FKM (fluoroelastomer) rubber we use is a high-performance material more commonly found in industrial seals. It resists chlorine, salt water, perspiration, UV and ozone, and unlike silicone it does not attract dust or lint, so the surface stays clean and matte.
It is the natural choice for dive and sports watches: it holds its shape in water, does not retain odour and cleans with soapy water. Because it stays flexible across a wide temperature range it will not turn tacky in summer heat or stiffen in the cold.
